Karlsruhe
The exhibition shows almost 200 small-format works on paper, which explore the reality between dream and wakefulness using the motif of landscape. Sometimes this is formulated, focused and partly narrative, almost kitschily exaggerated. Sometimes it slips away, becoming a purely abstract idea that ultimately dissolves and disappears into pure color. The attempt at pure definition, simple understanding on the one hand, and naivety, poetry, and humor on the other, always move close to an abyss that often only becomes apparent at second glance.
